Welcome to 2022

Introduction – From the Principal

It is a real pleasure to be contributing a small piece to Tintern’s alumni newsletter, but not as much of a pleasure as being able to attend reunions and alumni events as our lives have trended back towards their pre-pandemic normal. I hope your life is moving similarly, and you are able to feel the thriving that comes from this return to something like normal.

The absence of our alumni from the campus and events beyond our gates registered as a feeling of loss, not dissimilar to the loss of Year 12 events, and significant School occasions and gatherings. Like the School without students and staff during the lockdowns, the absence of our alumni legacy left a similar vacuum.

This year, though, it has been wonderful to resume face to face alumni connection with a number of significant events, most notably the very large, multi-year Hawthorn reunion in April just gone. It is clear that we are all relishing the opportunity to gather, and the spirit of reunions conducted this year has been notably a wonderful mix of large attendance, energy and enthusiasm, and very good humour!

I hope to see you at your next reunion.

Warm regards

Brad Fry
Principal
