Tintern Old Girls Association

TOGA has not been immune to the global pandemic that has affected us all. We had planned to celebrate our 115th anniversary this year, but uncertainty and border closures has meant we have had to delay things. No doubt TOGA will have a role to play in the sesquicentennial celebrations for Tintern in 2027—I’m sure many of our members remember the 1977 festivities very well.

A scholarship, endowed from a bequest from Nancy Lancaster to TOGA was again awarded to a Tinternite who might not otherwise have been able to complete their education at Tintern. 

Our hardworking committee has been meeting virtually enabling members from outside the Melbourne metropolitan member to be more involved. We have old girls on our committee from year groups in the 1950s through to the earlier years of this century, all keen to ensure the ethos and values that were installed into us through our Tintern education are carried on to new generations. Although Tintern has changed, the foundations laid steady and strong continue. Thanks to Brad, Di and the Tintern Alumni and Community Relations team for their support in helping TOGA to not only celebrate the history of Tintern, but also enabling our community of old girls (and boys!) to flourish. 

No doubt with our eyes on 2022 TOGA will again see reunions and groups meet in person again and we look forward to continuing our long association with the school.

Tintern Old Girls Association 2021

Celebrating its 115^th year TOGA continues to manage the Nancy Lancaster Fund bequeathed to Tintern in 1991 donating back to the school partial interest earned on the investments towards supporting school bursaries.

We thank and acknowledge the current TOGA committee and those who have come before them for their continued service. In honour of this significant milestone we have listed below the names of all the TOGA presidents since its inception.
