Tintern Old Girls, Change and Tradition
Since 1906 there has been TOGA. Through World Wars and Depressions/Recessions and the GFC, TOGA has maintained its connection to past students. Even with the change we are currently experiencing, tradition continues.
The beginnings of Tintern Grammar Alumni, as a separate component of Alumni to TOGA and a new Constitution that is more reflective of life in 2020, TOGA has been dealing with a number of challenges.
To our members there may have been few signs, to our committee volunteers there has been meeting after meeting and discussions of uncertainty. Do we persist and fight for TOGA or do we let TOGA fade away and just become part of the TGA (Tintern Grammar Alumni).
We decided to persist. A strength of 114 years and a passionate team of TOGA volunteers.
In 2020 with COVID-19 impacting on every aspect of our lives we still must hold our AGM. Excitingly, we have the technological capabilities to do this. All of our members can attend our AGM through a phone hook-up via Zoom, or via the Zoom video link. The information is included below in the Notice of our 113th AGM.
A new era and one that your TOGA Committee truly hopes that our members embrace. Please participate in our AGM, it is never lengthy, and you will be able to see it wherever in this COVID-19 world you are (if you have internet of course).
Thank you always to the TOGA Committee, without you TOGA wouldn’t be TOGA.

Tintern Old Girls Association 2020 Annual General Meeting
Due to the Coronavirus concerns, TOGA will be holding the 2020 AGM as an online Zoom Meeting on Thursday 30 April commencing at 7.30pm
Zoom is a web-based video conferencing tool with a local, desktop client and a mobile app that allows users to meet online, with or without video.
TOGA is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 113th Annual General Meeting of the Tintern Old Girls Association
Will be held on Thursday 30 April 2020 as a ZOOM Meeting – on the Internet
BUSINESS:
- To confirm the minutes of the last preceding AGM and of any General Meeting held since
that meeting. - To receive and consider the financial statement and Balance Sheet of the organisation for the past financial year, and the report of the auditor thereon;
- To receive from the Committee a report upon the activities of the organisation during the past Financial Year;
- To elect the Presidentand Committee Members.

(The elections for positions of Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are held at the first committee meeting following the AGM).
Nominations in writing must reach the Hon Secretary 7 days before the meeting.

If you live outside of Melbourne and would like to get in contact with other Tinternites in your area, let us know! Many small groups have been formed over the years providing great opportunities for Social and Networking activities.
As with everything in this digital age, we prefer to email our members as it reduces our costs and volunteer time. We no longer receive income via memberships unless past students choose to become Life Members.
