Spring Celebration 2019
An incredible afternoon was had by all those who braved the cold weather and intermittent rain to attend the 2019 Spring Celebration. The Friends of Young Farmers once again worked hard to create a welcoming and family-friendly event open to all current, past and future students and their families.
The Tintern Young Farmers were also to be found helping in all aspects of the Spring Celebration.
Here’s hoping to better weather for the 2020 Spring Celebration!
Presentation Ball
A magical evening was had by all at the 2019 Presentation Ball. Hosted at the Karralyka Centre on Friday 20 September, the volunteer group once again worked tirelessly to create an incredible experience for the Presentees and their partners.
Spring Garden Tour
Thank you to everyone who attended the Spring Garden Tour on Friday 25 October. A wonderful day was had by all, even if the weather was very temperamental.
Our first stop was Mornington Botanical Rose Garden for morning tea and a guided tour, provided by the incredible group of volunteers who run it.
The two-course lunch at The Grand Mornington was delicious. The day finished with a tour with the Head Gardeners of Heronswood House and Gardens.
Thank you to our generous sponsors who supported the Garden Tour this year:
- Ventura Bus
- Yarra Valley & Ranges Country Life
- Canterbury Rd Flower Gallery
- Seasol
- Hardrock Climbing

Munch with the Musos
The CM Wood Centre was filled to capacity on the morning of 24 November Sunday morning as the Friends of Music ran their most successful “Munch with the Musos” yet! This is the 12th year that the committee has mounted this wonderful event which brings together our Junior School and Middle School performers (and a smattering of senior students), with a Christmas theme being the order of the day. Somewhere in the vicinity of 380 people, including students and their family members and staff enjoyed the musical items performed by choirs, orchestras and bands.
As well as festive music, the event provided time for socialising, munching on tasty morsels, reflecting on the past year, and a familial atmosphere that wouldn’t be possible without the incredible organisational efforts of our Friends of Music committee. Thank you to the hard-working parents, who set up the hall on Friday afternoon (in the dull afternoon light, as we pondered the possibility of no power on Sunday!) and then arrived at 7.30am on Sunday to make sandwiches, cut fruit and get the sprinkles onto the fairy bread! Their efforts are greatly appreciated by the Music Department and the wider school community.

After hours campus access
We are changing arrangements for after-hours access to the campus.
General access to the campus between 5pm and 7am, whether by vehicle or by foot, will be restricted to enter via Gate 1 only (corner Morinda and Loma Streets). All other vehicle and pedestrian gates will shut and lock at 5pm.
If there is a scheduled evening function on campus, Gate 1 will certainly be open, and parking and access will also be available for all attendees through Gate 7 – the Staff/Bush/Community car park, accessed through Alexandra Road near Eastwood Primary. Parking for nominated members of the community requiring close proximity access will be available by arrangement via Gate 8 (Administration) car park, as it has been previously.
Please note that all gates will allow exit at any time, via either the exit press button (pedestrian gates), or a pad under the road (vehicle gates).
I thank you for your understanding and accommodation of this change.
