The Tintern Grammar Scholarship Fund welcomes the support of the school community who share the vision of our School’s education for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the School. Please consider helping us make a difference in the lives of some very special young people.
In 2021 we increased our Scholarship Fund to more than $160K and are now well on the way to our long-term goal of supporting scholarship recipients through a self-sustaining fund. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible.
In recognition of the changing landscape of education and society, we have broadened the types of scholarships on offer at Tintern. The Future Voices Scholarship seeks students with leadership qualities as well as a strong commitment to engage in the wider community. The Social Justice Scholarship provides for students who are passionate about social justice and the community and the Performing Arts Scholarship provides for those students who are following a Performing Arts pathway. In addition, we continue to offer Academic and Music Scholarships, and the Sylvia Walton and Mike Blood alumni scholarships.
The Henry and Jean Speagle Scholarship, pledged to the school by Henry and Jean, is to be awarded on the basis of financial need, to a female student who is a practicing member of the Anglican Church or another Christian denomination. Following Henry’s passing in 2020, last year the Speagle family made an initial gift to the Scholarship Fund. The family will continue to build the corpus for the Scholarship (including through a bequest) until a 50% Scholarship can be awarded in perpetuity to suitable recipients. We are most grateful to the Speagle family for this extraordinarily generous ‘Gift of Education’.
Scholarships have the power to be life-changing, as they bring diversity within the community and provide future students with a range of opportunities which they otherwise may not be able to access.
Donations of $2 AUD and above to the Scholarship, Library and Building Funds are fully tax deductible.
Thank you Sarah de Witt (Grecea YG 2009) for sharing her time to support our 2022 annual Appeal.
