It is with great sadness the Tintern Community mourns the sudden passing of Michael Kelson.

Michael was the son of Ilma Kelson who was the Director of Music at Tintern from 1958 to 1973. Michael was instrumental in supporting the Kelson Scholarships in memory of his mother and Penelope Thwaites AM (YG 1960). These scholarships have supported the tuition of students in the pursuit of their music education for the past eighteen years.

The Tintern Community extends its condolences to Michael’s two children, Kate and Anthony and grandchildren Lachie and Maddy and their broader family. May he rest in peace.
